Programs Offered

B.Sc. Nursing

The B.Sc. Nursing degree program is a four-year full time program comprising eight semesters with credit system which prepares B.Sc. nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwifery in a variety of settings in either public/government or private healthcare settings.
The program encompasses foundational, core and elective courses in the form of Modular learning. This program prepares nurses and midwives for generalist nursing including midwifery practice through a competency-based and outcome-based approach. Knowledge acquisition and mastery of competencies related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management and care of the dying is the core aspect of this programme. This is achieved through learning in a skill lab/simulated lab and clinical environment. Simulation will be integrated throughout the curriculum wherever feasible to enable them to develop competencies before entry into the real field of practice.

The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years and there is no upper age limit for B. Sc. Nursing admission.
Candidates should have passed the qualifying 12th Standard or equivalent examination (10+2) with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passing marks / grade in English.
For candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC the marks obtained in 3 science subjects shall be 40% instead of 45% for General category candidates.
Candidates from State Open Schools recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open Schools (NIOS) recognized by Central Government can also apply.
For foreign nationals, the entry qualification equivalency of 12th standard will be determined by the University; based on guidelines of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi or other applicable guidelines.
Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour effective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
Candidate shall be medically fit.
Candidates with locomotor disability of up to 40% of the lower extremity may be considered for admission.
Married candidates are also eligible.
Cut off date for admission to BSc Nursing programme is as per the apex body (INC) notification.

Post Basic Nursing

Post Basic Nursing is 2 years of bridging course which is designed to enhance the nursing skills of professionals who already have a background in nursing.

Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 on or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
- T. Techniques
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Leprosy Nursing
- TB Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Cancer Nursing
- Orthopaedic Nursing
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.

M.Sc. Nursing

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSc Nursing) is an advanced degree for registered nurses and an entry-level degree for nurse educators and managers. This nursing degree equip nurses for employment as administrators, clinical nurse leaders, and specialists in health policies. We offer various specializations with intake capacity as under:

Medical Surgical Nursing: 04 seats (Critical care-03, CVT-01),
Child Health Nursing: 07 seats
Obstetric and gynecological Nursing: 04 seats
Community Health Nursing: 04 seats
Mental health Nursing: 01 seat

The M.Sc. specialization provides students with an understanding of the subject from a scientific standpoint.

Have passed baccalaureate degree with 55% of marks and one year of professional experience.
