The aim and objectives of the B.P.T curriculum are to educate and train a student to become a competent physiotherapist who will be able to impart health services deftly and effectively to the community in the form of functional diagnosis, prevention and treatment of physiological anomalies in humans.
The School of Physiotherapy will be implementing the curriculum proposed by the National Council of Allied and Health Care Professionals from the academic year 2026-27 for Bachelor's of Physiotherapy (B.P.T) program.
The aim and objectives of the B.P.T curriculum are to educate and train a student as a qualified Physiotherapist who will be able to impart health services safely and effectively to the community in terms of health promotion, functional diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dysfunction in different fields of medical science.
The teaching and training program shall be an evolving one and there shall be more emphasis on demonstration, clinical work, seminars, and group discussion than on classroom teaching. The student shall have clinical experience in different fields like Orthopedics, Neurology, Chest and Cardiac conditions, Pediatrics, and Surgery. Students shall visit and work at community centers like primary health centers, geriatric homes, paraplegic homes, orphanages, NASEOH etc. as a part of training for community rehabilitation. The progress of the student shall be monitored through seasonal examinations. A record of student’s work shall be maintained which would form the base for internal assessment. The students shall be encouraged to do clinical presentations, participate in group discussions and seminars, to prepare community-related projects to enable them to develop personality, expression, and acquire a depth of knowledge.
The Master of Physiotherapy in Cardio-Pulmonary science program is designed to build advanced clinical competence supported by a strong foundation in evidence-based practice. The program focuses on developing comprehensive skills in the assessment, planning, and interpretation of a wide range of cardiopulmonary conditions, enabling students to formulate and implement appropriate, up-to-date physiotherapy interventions in line with recent advances in the field.
The Master of Physiotherapy in Sports science program is designed to develop advanced clinical and performance-based skills in the management of sports-related conditions. Students gain expertise in the assessment, planning, and interpretation of a wide range of sports injuries, enabling them to design and implement effective, evidence-informed treatment strategies aligned with recent advances in the field. The program also emphasizes the development of specialized skills in sports-specific rehabilitation, along with strength and conditioning programs tailored for competitive sportspersons
The Master of Physiotherapy in Community Rehabilitation program prepares professionals with a strong foundation in public health systems and community-based rehabilitation. It emphasizes socio-cultural and environmental determinants of health, enabling effective planning and delivery of inclusive, population-based care. Adopting a life-course approach—“from womb to tomb”—the program integrates health promotion, prevention, and rehabilitation across all ages. It incorporates specialized domains including Women’s Health, Industrial Therapy, and Geriatric Physiotherapy, addressing maternal health, workplace wellness, and healthy aging. Graduates are equipped to work in multidisciplinary settings, contribute to research and policy, and enhance functional independence and quality of life within communities.

The program focuses on building comprehensive skills in the assessment, planning, and interpretation of a wide range of adult and paediatric neurological conditions, enabling students to design and implement effective, up-to-date treatment strategies in line with recent advances in neurorehabilitation.
