A day in the life of a creative student is rarely predictable. It moves between ideas, conversations, experimentation, and hands-on work. Unlike fixed routines, each day unfolds differently, shaped by both the classroom and the larger campus environment. This rhythm reflects how creative education is experienced in practice.

  1. The day begins with interactive learning.
Classroom sessions are built around discussion, exploration, and problem-solving. Students are encouraged to question, observe, and participate, making learning more engaging and idea-driven.
  2. Learning extends into fashion labs.
Fashion labs are where concepts take shape. Students work with fabrics, forms, and construction techniques, translating ideas into tangible outcomes. Access to industry-grade sewing machines and digital software helps them connect their work to real-world scenarios.
  3. Projects keep the creative process active.
A typical day involves developing concepts, working on styling exercises, or preparing presentations. This continuous engagement allows students to stay connected to their ideas and refine them as they progress.
  4. Campus life becomes part of learning.
Interactions with peers across creative disciplines bring new perspectives. Informal discussions, collaborative work, and shared spaces contribute to a dynamic and inspiring environment. Students also get opportunities to engage with platforms like the community radio station, where they can explore radio conversations, podcasts, and audio storytelling.
  5. Reflection is built into the process.
Students review their work, seek feedback, and improve. This cycle of iteration helps them understand that creativity develops over time.

This experience is shaped by the learning environment at the School of Creative Studies, D Y Patil Deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

  1. The focus is on experiential learning.
Students are encouraged to engage with real-world contexts through projects, internships, and industry interactions.
  2. Infrastructure supports creative exploration.
State-of-the-art classrooms, well-equipped labs, and access to industry-relevant tools create a space where ideas can be developed and tested effectively.
  3. Learning is aligned with industry expectations.
The BSc in Fashion and Apparel Studies prepares students to navigate diverse creative fields by building both practical ability and creative professional skills.

A creative student’s day is not defined by routine but by experience.

It is a balance of learning, creating, and reflecting, preparing them to step into industries where ideas, execution, and adaptability matter equally.
