Dr. Pramodkumar P. Gupta is an Assistant Professor and Principal Research Investigator at the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University in Navi Mumbai, India. Since August 2008, initially serving as an Assistant Professor and later taking on the role of Bioinformatics Lab In-charge in November 2019.
Dr Gupta also served as a Visiting Professor for Bioinformatics, Genomics, Proteomics, and Structural Bioinformatics to numerous Institutes and Universities. Dr. Gupta is also a recognized Ph.D. guide in Bioinformatics, mentoring students in their doctoral research. Dr. Gupta’s lab holds a numerous collaborations in India, abroad and hosts training program and final year dissertations for UG, PG, PhD scholars and also provide consultancy in areas of drug discovery
Dr. Gupta also serve as an external expert to PhD and evaluated PhD thesis. Dr. Gupta serves as an Academic Editor for the PLOS ONE Journal and is an Affiliate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry for the 2022-2023 term.
Dr. Gupta holds a strong background in academic and research, with administration role – report preparation for regulatory bodies (NAAC, UGC and related) and is recognized for his leadership qualities.
He holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Amity University Rajasthan and Erasmus Mundus Doctoral Fellow (2016-2017) under the grant Euphrates, at Proteomics Centre, Institute of Biochemistry, Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania Europe. Bioinformatics Associate / Analyst Analyst (LFS / Q3904) 2021, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Dr Gupta’s expertise lies in Protein Kinases and drug discovery and hold numerous publications. With primary expertise in Bioinformatics, Molecular Modeling, Systems Biology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Annotation, Dr. Gupta is proficient in utilizing various bioinformatics tools and environments. His scholarly contributions include numerous research publications, total 48 with 32 in Scopus, 20 in Web of Science with a citation count of more than 200, with H-index = 8 and i10-index = 7, reflecting his impact in the scientific community. Total 02 books, 13 book chapters, 68 (oral / poster) short communications, 26 invited talks, 17 Conference organizing committee members / Advisory board member / Chairperson. Dr. Pramodkumar P Gupta’s research interests encompass several areas including Protein kinases and drug development in oncology, anti-diabetic, phytochemical screening for wide therapeutics applications.

• Molecular Modeling: Specializing in the 2D and 3D structural modeling and simulation of biological macromolecules.
• Computer-Aided Drug Design and Discovery: Engaging in the identification and development of potential therapeutic compounds using computational methods.
• Data Annotation and Curation: Involved in the functional, biological, and medical annotation and curation of data.
• Omics: Understanding the complexity of biological phenomenon by the mode of Genomics, Transcriptomics and Proteomics data scale and identifying the Biomarkers, Drug Target and Therapeutic Regime Design
• Systems Biology: Studying and constructing models of metabolic pathways to understand biological processes.
