About the Chief Mentors
Dr. Vijay Gangadhar Negalur
Popularly known as “The Gentle Giant of Diabetes” as known in his professional circles, Dr. Negalur has been the scientific chairperson for various RSSDI conferences and is a respected orator at various national and international Diabetic conferences.
He is a member of the European Association for the study of Diabetes (EASD), American Diabetic Association (ADA) as well as the Association of Physicians of India (API)
He was the recipient of the prestigious DHANVANTARI AWARD by the Brahman Sabha.
Dr.Vijay Panikar
The first name that comes to mind when you talk of excellence in Diabetes care is Dr Vijay Panikar.
He is currently the Chairman of Research for study of Diabetes in India-Maharashtra chapter(RSSDI). He has been the past President of College of Physicians & Surgeons of Bombay; as well as the Secretary of Association for Diabetes Care and Prevention. He is on the editorial board for RSSDI Textbook of Diabetes.
He has authored the book “Healthy way of Living with Diabetes” which has been translated into 4 languages. With several chapters in text books on Diabetes and Medicine and more than 20 Research publications in journals, he has been a forerunner in medical research contributing to advances in clinical practice of diabetes. His Pioneering work on Triple drug therapy for Diabetes and usefulness of low dose Pioglitazone are only the tip of the iceberg.
