Hightlights
- The aim of this course is comprehensive training of a pathologist (MD/DNB) in the various aspects and modalities of Oncopathology, including developing an aptitude for research.
- The fellow will assist the staff Pathologist in consultative interpretation of all surgical pathology & hematopathology material accessioned in the lab.
- The course will be of 1 year duration at the end of which the students would be expected to pass a written and practical examination.
- Neuberg diagnostics and D Y Patil university envisage creating a one of its kind fellowship where academic and practical training will be imparted in niche area such as Oncopathology.
- The candidates would be expected to conduct daily activities in lab (such as reporting actual cases with their respective consultants) as well as participate in academic activities, including mandatory paper publication.

MD/DNB Pathology with 1 year experience post pg.
Duration of Course
1 Year
Course Commences: January 2025
Course Completion Criteria:
- Internal Assessment Theory Examination – 100 marks
- Final University Practical Examination – 100 marks
- Minimum 1 Research Publication in international / national journal.
- Minimum 1 Poster/ Paper presentation in International / national conference.

- Head & Neck tumors including oral, pharyngeal, thyroid, parathyroid & salivary gland neoplasia
- Breast neoplasia
- Tumors of lung & mediastinum
- Gastrointestinal neoplasia
- CNS tumors
- Gynaecologic neoplasia
- Urinary tract neoplasia
- Hepatobiliary & pancreatic neoplasia
- Endocrine pathology
- Bone & soft tissue tumors
- Hematolymphoid tumors, including bone marrow pathology & lymph node pathology
The fellow will be expected to participate in journal club presentations under guidance of the mentor. Research and publication of research papers would be highly encouraged and at least two publications are expected at the completion of the program
