About the Chief Mentor
Dr Gireesh Warawdekar
One of the most renowned Interventional and Vascular radiologist, Dr. Gireesh Warawdekar is the honorary consultant at several prestigious hospitals in Mumbai. He was the former President of the Indian Society for Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) November 2014 to February 2017.
He has many firsts to his credit – first to perform Fallopian Tube Recanalization procedure in Mumbai – first to perform Carotid stenting in the city as well as Trans-jugular liver biopsies -first to perform stent graft for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms & was also the expert first to perform intra-cranial stenting in India in 2002. He was the pioneer in starting Endoscopic Ultrasound in Mumbai since late 90s.
Having performed more than 10,000 hepato-biliary interventions over the last one decade and over 20,000 diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures to date, his clinical experience grants him a unique position to skillfully train younger graduates in the field of Interventional Radiology.

Program Highlights:-
A twoyears comprehensive and well-balanced training program encompassing all the subjects in Interventional neuroradiology.
The fellow receives “hands-on” experience at the workstation as well as through active procedure services
The fellowship experience encompasses the entire range of IR involving both vascular and nonvascular interventions.
Fellowship trainees perform a wide variety of cases including loco-regional tumor therapy, catheter-directed thrombolysis, IVC filtration, venous reconstruction, vascular stenting, fibroid embolization, vascular anomaly ablation, pediatric interventions, etc
Opportunity will be given to conduct at least one original research study during the course duration.
Oral/Poster presentation as part of course syllabus at a local/regional/ national/international meeting.

MD/DNB in Radiodiagnosis
Diploma in medical radiodiagnosis – with 1 year training post diploma.
