Ph.D. Program
The School of Occupational Therapy at DY Patil Deemed to be University invites qualified professionals and academicians to pursue advanced doctoral research through its Ph.D Programme in Occupational Therapy, conducted in accordance with UGC Regulations 2022 and aligned with NCAHP guidelines.
The programme is designed to develop independent researchers and leaders in rehabilitation sciences, clinical practice, education, and healthcare research. Scholars receive structured training in research methodology, academic writing, evidence-based practice, and advanced occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life.

Eligibility
- 2-year regular on-campus Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy after BOT
- Minimum 55% marks from a recognised institution
- International candidates must possess an equivalent recognised qualification
Coursework
- Research Methodology & Biostatistics – 4 Credits
- Research & Publication Ethics – 4 Credits
- Advances in Occupational Therapy Process & Practice – 4 Credits
Scholars must secure a minimum of 55% marks in coursework to continue in the programme.
Duration
Full-Time Ph.D: Minimum 3 years, maximum 6 years
Part-Time Ph.D: Minimum 4 years, maximum 6 years

Admission
Process
Admissions are conducted through the DYPU Ph.D Entrance Test (PET), held twice annually in January and July. Candidates qualifying PET proceed to an interview and research presentation before the Departmental Research Committee. UGC-NET/GATE/CSIR-NET qualified candidates may apply through direct interview.
