About the
Program
This is a postgraduate program of three years duration recognised by the Medical Council of India. It involves rotational postings in the Departments of Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Dentistry, Anatomy, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Medicine.
The course trains the student in the various aspects of Toxicology , Fire Arms and Ballistics and Medical Jurisprudence. Practical training in Forensic Medicine is imparted by exposing the student to Post Mortems, Case Discussions and Assignments. The Department is equipped with a state of art Museum , Laboratory and Case Repository.
This is backed by a sound theoretical grounding in the subject that is imparted in the form of lectures and by conducting case discussions, seminars and journal clubs. Interaction with experts in the field and legal luminaries enables the student to be up to date with the interpretation of law with respect to the practice of Medicine.
The course gives an excellent Clinical and Legal exposure to the student. It facilitates the development of excellent analytical and research skills along with a sound judgement in the practice of Forensic Medicine and Jurisprudence.
