Eligibility

The course is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university in India or abroad (with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade) as detailed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or Professional degree in a health-related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Non health sciences) with proven experience in a health-related field.

Objective

The overall objective of the MPH programme is to develop and train competent and skilled public health professionals who are armed with problem solving capabilities and capacities along with critical thinking skills. The training provided during the programme effectively addresses and meets the diverse public health needs of the country. Students enrolled in this programme rest on a solid foundation preparing them for careers across a prism of various sectors. These include academia, non-profit organisations, research institutions, local, national and international public health agencies as well as industry.

Duration and
Pedagogy

Students at DYPSPH undergo two years of intensive graduate education focused on building proficiency in the realm of public health. The curriculum has been carefully designed to achieve academic excellence with strong theoretical foundation complemented by practical application. This 24-month full time programme offers rich experiential learning opportunities through interactive class discussions, internships, field assignments, and research projects.

The school has established meaningful collaborations with various national and international healthcare organisations, schools of social sciences, and other public health institutes. These partnerships provide students with valuable exposure and help in creating a pool of competent and committed public health professionals.

The MPH at DY Patil University prepares graduates for a broad range of high-impact careers in public health.
