About the
Program
Post Basic BSc (Bachelor of Science) Nursing is 2 years of bridging course which is designed to enhance the nursing skills of professionals who already have a background in nursing.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission must meet the following requirements:
- Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 on or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
- Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
- T. Techniques
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Leprosy Nursing
- TB Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Cancer Nursing
- Orthopaedic Nursing
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.
Duration Of Course
The Candidate shall undergo a period of study for 2 years for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
MAXIMUM PERIOD FOR COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM:
The maximum period for completion of the Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) program is four years.

International Collaboration
The International Collaboration Program provides an opportunity to both Indian and foreign learners in the field of Nursing for academic interactions and research. It has been envisaged to promote academic links among the nursing personnel in India and abroad.
We have initiated collaboration with University of Cuu Long (UGL), Vietnam; to plan and conduct various programs such as webinar, FDP, online competitions and much more in order to promote professional development of students and faculties.
Internship/Placement
The dynamic healthcare system needs competent nurses who are also excellent clinical leaders to deliver effective direct patient care in healthcare settings. In addition to instilling strong ethical values in the students in line with its mission; D. Y. Patil University School of Nursing is also conscious of the invaluable partnership it shares with stakeholders and the society at large, which enables us to produce effective clinical nurse leaders.
We are proud to announce that all the alumni of the School of Nursing have secured excellent placements with Public and Corporate healthcare organizations at the National and International levels. Placements have always been critical in recognizing students’ potential, and it is the goal of the entire DYPU community to raise the bar on placements year after year by instilling significant technical and nontechnical knowledge in students thereby preparing them to meet the ever-changing industry requirements.
