Duties & Responsibilities of School

DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Arts and Commerce has been established with an aim to provide quality education fulfilling the needs of the corporate world. It is NAAC Reaccredited with A grade and approved by UGC and AICTE.

 

The learning ambiance provides many opportunities to our students for enhancing managerial skills and to develop one’s personality for a challenging future. The intellectual pool of our faculties have doctorate degree to their credit with rich industry experience. Student managed committee, new initiatives and social development/ voluntary programs are some of the diverse activities that students are engaged in at the department. This provides students with a wider perspective on the concepts taught in the classroom. A unique feature of this program is the interplay between classroom activities, fieldwork and corporate interactions. The degree of rigor of this interplay coupled with a strong emphasis on quantitative tools increases gradually with each semester as the student moves from the foundation areas to specialized areas of management.

 

Schools have been a vital building block of our society. Be it kindergarten or an in situation of higher learning, the common thread that is woven to form a fabric that can make our country proud is the Academia-Industry Society linkage. In all our activities as a business school, the School will always endeavour to link with the industry and shoulder social responsibilities.

Plan, schedule, and organize, coordinate and monitor Lectures and Practicals for the students assigned to you.

Complete the syllabi in the subjects assigned to you.

Prepare Lecture Plan/ Lecture Materials/ Course Material

Conduct at least three internal Tests during each semester in the subjects assigned to you

Encourage students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Plan, deliver and evaluate theoretical / practical instructions.

Guide the students in the performance of practical tasks and skill exercises and evaluate their performance, A dvise and assist the students in their project works.

Participate in professional development activities

Involve in at least one task for Institutional Development during a semester

Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the HOD.

To produce 95% results in the subject taught.

To take all needful steps for Research and Development towards establishing a Centre of Excellence.

To take up Collaborative programmes with leading organizations by exchange of know -hows and in turn help placement.

To publish at least one paper in international conferences and journals of repute every year.

To organize an International Conference on any thrust area on relevant subjects.

To take all efforts in bringing the name and fame of the institution to the top level in the nation.

To apply and get Central Assistance to the tune of Rs.5 to 10 Lakhs once every

General

The Faculty Member should come to the college at least 5 minutes before the commencement of classes and should leave the college not earlier than 15 minutes after the end of the last hour.

All the Faculty Members are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the institution as prevalent from time to time.

The work plan of teachers shall ensure, in the most productive manner, the utilisation of stipulated 40 working hours per week, with regard to the roles, jobs and targets assigned to them by the Department/ Institution.

Faculty Members are expected to update their knowledge by attending seminars/workshops/conference, after obtaining necessary permission from the Principal/Management.

Faculty Members should attempt to publish text books, research papers in reputed International / Indian Journals / Scopus Indexed/ UGC Care Journals/ Conferences.

The Faculty Member must strive to prepare himself/ herself academically to meet all the challenges and requirements in the methodology of teaching so that the input may be useful for the student community at large. Every Faculty Member is expected to extend his/her beneficial influence in building up the personality of students and he/she should associate himself/herself actively with such extra-curricular activities which he / she is interested in or assigned to him/her from time to time.

Groupism of any kind should be absolutely avoided. Faculty Members found indulging in such activities will be subject to discipline proceedings.

Duties & Responsibilities of Non-Teaching

Non-Teaching Staff Responsibilities towards Faculties and Students

Staff must at all times observe the University Equal Opportunities Policies for staff and pupils and treat pupils, parents and other stakeholders in accordance with those policies

As the technical and administrative staffs are expected to work closely with the faculty of the university in day to day activities,

The staff must Respect the prerogative of the faculty members to look after the education of the student and provide all assistance needed in the discharge of his/her duties in imparting education.

Develop friendly and co-operative relationship with the faculty members Provide full co-operation and support to the faculty members for the development of University

A member of technical and administrative category is expected to develop fraternal relationships with his/her colleagues to nurture proper interpersonal relationships and to develop team spirit.

Extend co-operation to his/ her colleagues in activities relating to academic and administrative matters and the development of his/her profession.

Refrain from passing information about colleagues to any individual or agency without his/her express permission

Non-Teaching Staff Responsibilities towards colleagues

Treat their colleagues in the same manner as they themselves wish to be treated;

Speak respectfully of other colleagues and render assistance for betterment of the University;

Refrain from lodging unsubstantiated allegations against colleagues to higher authorities; and
4
Refrain from allowing considerations of caste, creed, religion, race or sex in their professional endeavour.

Non-Teaching Staff Responsibilities towards Authorities

1
No Staff employed in a University shall absent himself from his/her duties without prior permission.

In case of sickness or absence on medical ground, a medical certificate to the satisfaction of the college authorities shall be produced within a week.

No Staff employed in a University shall engage directly or indirectly in any trade or business. No staff employed in the University shall send any application for employment under any other agency, except through the Authority under the University.

Any staff employed in a college when involved in criminal proceedings shall inform the University.
5
No staff employed in a University shall engage himself/herself in any political activity.
6
He/ She shall not associate with any political party or any organization which takes part in politics or shall subscribe to, or assist in any other manner, any political movement.

Duties & Responsibilities of Students

Student life is Golden Life

It is generally considered that ‘students life is a golden life’ because it is the most crucial part of the life of an individual.

Rights & duties of school student

Student responsibility occurs when students take an active part in their learning by recognizing they are accountable for their academic success. It is demonstrated when they make choices & take actions that lead them towards their goal of education. There are some roles & responsibilities of a student that should & need to be performed in school during school life. Just as we, humans have rights & duties towards the society as well as our community, in the same way, students studying in school also have some rights & duties that are important to be followed.

1. Meeting Academic Expectations

Developing a creative learning environment while displaying values of teamwork and unity are some of the values required to meet the academic expectations of students

2. Being Punctual & Respectful

By being respectful, students contribute to a healthy learning environment and lessen distractions and disciplinary actions. They are also supposed to be punctual. Being late for school develops their bad image which thus has a negative impact on their grades as well. Thus, it is very important for them to maintain discipline in the classroom & understand time management.

3. Being in the best of behaviours

School plays an important role in the process of socializing. That means an educational environment is required to ensure that the students gain access to quality education. In any case, to exist in such a condition, they are expected to comply with behavioural expectations and display values like politeness, kindness, compassion, generosity, sympathy, and respect.

4. Obey all the Faculties

Students should behave respectfully & obediently with their teachers & other members.

5. Maintain discipline in the class as well as in school

They must be well-disciplined not just in school, classrooms but also everywhere.

6. Keep the school neat and clean

They should always maintain cleanliness with their books, classroom, school, home, and bedroom. They should • Greet everyone with a smile & respect • Be helpful & kind to others They must be true, obedient, and loving towards their parents and elders. They should show love & affection towards primary students as well and treat all equally with patience & kindness.

7. Follow the rules & regulations of the school

They should go to school on time and maintain proper punctuality attend classes on time regularly. They need to understand their moral responsibilities & behaviour towards school & other classmates.

8. Do the assigned work on time

It is a well-known saying/ proverb,” Finish tomorrow’s tasks today, And today’s tasks right now. When would you finish them, If the world were to end in the next moment.” They should learn & complete the day’s task beforehand at home instead of leaving it for tomorrow.

9. Participate in various school activities organized

They should be active members in various classroom & school activities conducted or organized from time to time. They should proficiently participate in different sports, cultural clubs, tours & picnics conducted by the school.

10. Co-operate with teachers & other students

Students must be fair on the playground & support all their team members (other players). They should pay attention to what all is going on in class and should also listen to what the teacher is teaching.

Students play a significant role in managing their schools and classrooms. But, this is not enough for them. They are expected to leave their customary ranges as capable citizens and contribute towards the development of the society they are living in. Students are the future of a nation. They should try to become the best citizens & human beings to respect their country as far as they can.
