Introduction
The inaugural function of the FIRST-YEAR ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR THE SCHOOL OF CREATIVE STUDIES at D Y Patil Deemed to be University was a momentous occasion filled with excitement and anticipation. The event was graced by distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, all gathered to mark the beginning of an exciting journey for the new batch of students.
Lighting of the Lamp
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispersion of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge. This auspicious act set the tone for the orientation program.
Chief Guests
The program featured an esteemed panel of chief guests, each representing a unique aspect of creative studies and innovation. They were introduced as follows:
Ms. Jayanti Mahapatra – Head of Learning & Development at FOLKS VFX. With an impressive 20-year career in the VFX and Animation industry, Ms. Mahapatra shared her vast experience, including her work on notable films like Madagascar 2 and Puss in Boots.
Ms. Roma Aditya Kumar – Senior Manager at Usha International. She is a Design Educator and Design Mentor with 18 years of experience in the fashion and textile industry. Ms. Kumar is currently working on the project “Studio of Fashion and Craft.”
Ms. Namrata Bachani – Director of Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Academy. An alumna of the Indian School of Business, Ms. Bachani is recognized for pioneering the corporate childcare services industry and is now working to shape responsible advertising professionals.
Mr. Pratap Jadhav – A distinguished figure in the field of design, particularly in residential and office spaces. His contributions to Interior Design Education have been acknowledged, and he holds a position among the top architects and designers in India.
Prof. Dhimant Panchal – Chair Professor at MIT – Art Design and Technology University. Prof. Panchal has a diverse career spanning more than 42 years, with expertise in industrial design, fashion, and lifestyle accessory design.
Guest Addresses
Each of the distinguished guests addressed the audience, sharing their insights, experiences, and wisdom with the new students. They provided valuable guidance and inspiration to help the students embark on their creative studies journey.
Special Guest: Dr. Vijay Khole
The event also featured Dr. Vijay Khole, a distinguished educationist and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai and Amity University Maharashtra. Dr.Khole serves as a mentor at DY Patil University, guiding the institution in academic and academic policy matters. He addressed the audience, providing further wisdom and perspective.
