D.Y. Patil Medical College, founded in 1989, was originally affiliated to the University of Mumbai and then to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS). Since 2002 it is a constituent institute of D.Y. Patil University which is deemed to be University and now the nomenclature is changed to DY Patil deemed to be University School of Medicine.

The Goal of D.Y. Patil, deemed to be University School of Medicine and Hospital is to train undergraduate and post graduate medical graduates in the field of health sciences to achieve physical, mental and spiritual health for the whole nation. We offer academic programs from undergraduate to research degree level in the emerging areas of knowledge of Health Sciences.

The college provides facilities for M.B.B.S. and post-graduate studies. The spacious building accommodates twenty different departments, which include Departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics, Chest and TB, Skin and VD, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology and Radiodiagnosis.

In tune with the growing demands on medical professionals to be conversant with the cutting edge of modern technology, the para- clinical departments of the College are equipped with the best facilities. The modern laboratories conform to the requirements prescribed by the National Medical Commission.
The college also offers students state of the art facilities for study and research which includes the digital library. It has SLIM software for database management 25000+ volumes, 1800+ e-books, 1000+ journals for students and staff available anywhere on, and off the campus with IP access to registered personnel, 50 fully loaded Lenovo All-in-One PCs with high-speed internet and printing, and video-conferencing facilities.
All Academic Programs are recognized by the National Medical Commission and follow the curriculum prescribed by it.

The D Y Patil Hospital and Research Centre, Nerul, Navi Mumbai is a 1550 bedded Hospital multispecialty charitable hospital which caters primarily to the poor and needy patients free of cost and for others at affordable cost. It is the dream of Dr. D. Y. Patil, who desires to make the best in health care available within the means of the poor. The Hospital provides primary to tertiary level health care facilities to the patients at most affordable cost. It has Emergency Medical Services and Intensive Care facilities including MICU, NICU, ICCU, PICU, SICU and Post-Operative care with 21 operation theatres equipped with modern gadgets. Laboratory and Radiology services are available 24×7. The Hospital also has a well functional Blood Bank, Trauma Unit, organ transplant facilities, human milk bank, pain management clinic, geriatric clinic etc. Besides this it offers facilities for Invitro fertilization (IVF), dialysis center, Cardiac Cath lab etc. The hospital provides tertiary care facilities in Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urosugery, Oncosurgery and other super specialties. The average daily OPD is more than 3000 and occupancy is around 82%.
