A Dynamic Beginning where Enthusiasm met Experience: Orientation Day at DY Patil School of Creative Studies

The DY Patil School of Creative Studies, an institution that has quickly established itself as a dynamic and ever-growing hub for creative talent, recently welcomed its second batch of students in a grand orientation ceremony held on 30th August 2024. This event marked the beginning of an exciting journey for the new students, offering them a glimpse into the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. The orientation was not just an introduction to the academic year but a powerful showcase of the institution’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and the creative industry. With a strong focus on career readiness and industry relevance, the school is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of creative professionals who are ready to make their mark on the world.

The highlight of the day was the impressive lineup of chief guests who shared their wealth of knowledge and experience with the students. Among them was Mr. Anant Roongta, the Director of Famous Studios, who brought with him over 14 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry. His vision of transforming Famous Studios into a global leader in audio-visual craft and creative solutions resonated with the audience. He encouraged students to embrace innovation and creativity, emphasizing the importance of staying ahead of industry trends. Also gracing the event was Mr. Arfi Laamba, an accomplished actor, producer, and entrepreneur. Known for his roles in films like Slumdog Millionaire and Singh Is Bliing, Arfi’s journey from engineering to the entertainment industry is a testament to the power of following one’s passion. As the co-owner of Bombay Berlin Film Productions, he has carved out a niche in the Indo-European film production space, producing critically acclaimed films like LOEV and The Road to Mandalay. His message to the students was clear: success in the creative industry requires not just talent but also perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, a personal brand consultant, soft skills trainer, and founder of Minerva, an exclusive networking club for senior professionals and business owners. With over 15 years of experience in corporate and personal brand consulting, Jaspreet has trained over 1,000 Executive MBA students and conducted numerous corporate workshops. Her insights into the importance of personal branding and soft skills were invaluable, encouraging students to focus on building a strong personal brand alongside their creative talents.

The orientation day at DY Patil School of Creative Studies was not just a ceremonial start to the academic year; it was a powerful affirmation of the institution’s commitment to excellence and its vision for the future. With guidance from industry leaders like Anant Roongta, Arfi Laamba, and Jaspreet Kaur, the students are poised to embark on a journey of learning, growth, and creative exploration that will prepare them for successful careers in the dynamic world of media and entertainment.
