The DYPU School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Consortium Against Rabies, proudly hosted its 11th National Conference. This was two-day national conference on December 8th and 9th, 2023, held at the Centre of Excellence, DYPU campus in Navi Mumbai. The conference served as a platform for empowering minds, fostering collaborations, and advancing the shared vision of a Rabies-free India.

Fio Vialard, a first-year Master’s student specializing in Epidemiology in the Pant Pai lab at McGill University, Canada, has been actively engaged in pioneering research focused on the development of risk score models for sexually transmitted and Blood-borne infections (STBBIs). Fio visited the D Y Patil University campus to share their invaluable insights and experiences with both faculty and students.
The D Y Patil School of Public Health commemorated its second anniversary on March 18, 2023. In celebration of this milestone, the School collaborated with the Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar, to host a workshop on ‘Innovations in Public Health
Dr. Subhadra Menon, Professor and Consultant in Global Public Health and Development, is an adjunct faculty with the school and took a week-long workshop on health promotion and communication. The workshop was packed with lecture series and activities like roleplay, debate, and student presentations.
Mrs. Sangeetha Nikam was the guest speaker to commemorate the “International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.” She is the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Maharashtra Police Academy. She narrated her experiences as a Police official and the incidents that she witnessed during her lengthy tenure of work. She also shed light on the measures that could be taken to avoid gender-based violence.
