The first session of the e-conclave commenced on 4th August 2021. The topic for the talk was “Literature Search – how to explore the internet?” The speaker for the session was Dr. Anant Patil, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, D.Y. Patil University.
The speaker discussed why, when, where and how to search literature related to research. The speaker also covered in depth search strategies with different search terms like MesH terms, synonyms, filters, Boolean operators etc and advanced search for specific articles during the session.
The reasons for literature search, sources of literature like textbooks, journals and grey literature; databases like pubmed, Indmed, Scopus, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane database, Springer link, google scholar etc.; and principles of effective search were elaborately discussed in the lecture.

The speaker discussed in detail about different types of reviews like Scoping review, narrative review, Critical Appraisal etc. He elaborated on the differences, advantages and disadvantages of each of these reviews

The eleventh session of the E-conclave on Research Methodology commenced on 13th October 2021. The topic for the talk was “Qualitative data analysis”. The speaker for the session was Dr. Amreen Mahmood, Assistant Professor at the Department of physiotherapy, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Karnataka.
The speaker elaborated on data management, data analysis and qualitative writing. She spoke about the software that can be used for analysis, coding and categorization of data, and finally on the conceptualization and theory development. In terms of qualitative writing, the speaker discussed conventions and characteristics used in qualitative writing
